Apple iPhone 8 spotted running iOS 11; no rear fingerprint sensor seen

Most of the iPhone 8 renders we saw before Apple‘s WWDC 2017 had the device running on the currently available version of iOS 10. However, now that the Cupertino giant has announced iOS 11, we have come across fresh renders of iPhone 8 running the latest iOS. Notably, iOS 11 is due for its public release later this year.According to a series of images released by iDropNews, the alleged iPhone 8 is seen running iOS11, which comes with the new control center, revamped Apple Music design, and new notifications style among other. Certainly, the images are not official and thus need to be taken with a pinch of salt. However, this gives us a fair idea of how iOS 11 would look on iPhone 8. Moreover, the images reveal few other details about the upcoming iPhone.

From the images, iPhone 8 is seen to sport thin bezels, and iOS 11 can be seen running on an end-to-end stretched display. The alleged iPhone 8 will be slightly taller and broader than all the other iPhones. On the top of the frame is seen an earpiece, a secondary camera along with other sensors, fitted in a compact space to make for the bezel-less display. The unlock button is seen on the left side of the smartphone while the ‘meeting’ switch and the volume rocker is placed on the right side.

On the rear panel, the smartphone features a vertically aligned dual-camera setup with the LED flash placed between the pair of the camera sensor. The Apple logo is there on the back as well. The device features a unibody design with curves looking more prominent than ever. Well known Apple tipster, Benjamin Geskin earlier suggested that the rear panel on iPhone 8 will have a unique alloy of metal and glass.

No rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is seen in the new renders. Previous reports do hint at a rear fingerprint scanner on Apple as the company is facing challenges integrating the TouchID in the display.

From what is known so far, Apple iPhone 8 will feature OLED display, wireless charging, improved certification against waterproofing and dust proofing. Geskin also claims that the Cupertino giant will be unveiling three iPhones this year, allegedly called the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and the iPhone 8.
