Google Nexus smartphones Price & Specification in India

Google today launched the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P at an event in San Francisco. These new smartphone go on sale in the US, UK, Ireland and Japan next month, with pre-orders going live tonight. While there is no official word on Google’s plans for India, the smartphones’ pricing have been revealed on the Google Play Store.

LG Nexus 5X start from Rs 31,900, while the prices for the more expensive Huawei Nexus 6P start from Rs 39,999. These prices are no doubt for the 16GB variant and the 32GB variants of the respective smartphones. Prices for the other variants are yet unknown.

Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 v2.1 64-bit octa-core processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB/4GB of RAM.


Also on offer will be internal storage options like 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, dual front-facing speakers, a 3,450mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor. On the photography front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel or 5-megapixel selfie camera.


Connectivity options include single-SIM card slot, 4G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. On the software front, not surprisingly it will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

 LG smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 423ppi. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB , 32GB of internal storage. Equipped with a 2,700mAh battery, the listing claims its good enough for up to 17 hours of talktime and up to 300 hours on standby mode.

LG Nexus 5X sports a 12.3-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. Connectivity options such as 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are present.

Countdown Start to ISRO PSLV-C30 launch

The 50-hour countdown for the September 28 launch of PSLV-C30 carrying ASTROSAT satellite for the first dedicated Indian astronomy mission aimed at studying celestial objects has begun, ISRO said. The countdown activity of PSLV-C30/ASTROSAT Mission started at 8 am on Saturday, ISRO said.

PSLV-C30 carrying ASTROSAT along with six other co-passengers, one satellite each from Indonesia and Canada, and four nano satellites from the US is scheduled for launch on September 28,2015(Monday) at 10 am from the space port of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

Mission Readiness Review (MRR) committee and Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) that met on Friday had cleared the launch of PSLV-C30.

Commenting on the launch, ISRO Chairman AS Kiran Kumar had recently said, "What it means for India is this: it is one of the first scientific missions which will be available to the Indian researcher community as an observation opportunity.

This is a starting point for such things." ASTROSAT is India's first dedicated multi-wavelength space observatory. This scientific satellite mission endeavors for a more detailed understanding of our universe.

India will cross the half-century milestone on Monday once it successfully injects the six foreign satellites into their intended orbit. India has so far launched 45 foreign satellites for a fee. 

In 2008, ISRO had launched 10 satellites in one go including India’s Cartosate-2A satellite. Now, ISRO will be launching seven satellites for the third time in its history. 

The PSLV will carry a total payload of 1,631 kg during this mission. Just over 22 minutes into the flight, the rocket will eject ASTROSAT at an altitude of 650 kms above the earth. Soon after, six other satellites will be put into orbit and the whole mission will come to an end in just over 25 minutes. ASTROSAT, with a life span of five years, will observe the universe through optical, ultraviolet, low and high energy X-ray components of the electromagnetic spectrum, whereas most other scientific satellites are capable of observing through a narrow wavelength band, the agency said.

The Indonesian 76 kg LAPAN-A2 is a micro-satellite from the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space, meant for providing maritime surveillance using automatic identification system (AIS), supporting Indonesian radio amateur communities for disaster mitigation and carrying out earth surveillance using video and digital camera. 

The 14-kg NLS-14 (Ev9) of Space Flight Laboratory, University of Toronto Institute for Advanced Studies, is also a maritime monitoring Canadian nano satellite using the next generation AIS. The remaining four LEMUR nano satellites from Spire Global Inc., San Francisco, US, are non-visual remote sensing satellites, focusing primarily on global maritime intelligence through vessel tracking via AIS and high fidelity weather forecasting using GPS radio occultation technology, the ISRO said.

Prime Minister Modi Speech in United Nations(UN)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday made a strong pitch for reforms in the UN security council while addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit. 

His Speech Keynotes Bellow :  

Speaking at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in New York, PM Modi said "The world is connected and dependant on each other. Our international partnerships need to be centred on progress of humanity."

Throughout his speech, stressing that the world should be looked at as one family, Modi said all countries need to keep development of humankind at the centre of international policy. Poverty eradication, empowerment of women and tackling climate change should be the top goals of all nations, he said.

"Since we attained freedom, we have focused on ending poverty. Education and skill development are priorities for us," he said, adding that India has launched several schemes to empower people.

"We need to create a world where everyone feels safe, is respected and has opportunities to grow ... I want everyone to prosper and that's what I pray for; everyone's happiness, and prosperity," the Prime Minister said.

"I represent a culture where the earth is considered our mother," said Prime Minister Modi.

It is the entire world's responsibility, he said, to eradicate poverty and to tackle climate change. "If we all want the world to be peaceful and (we want) development for the world, poverty needs to be tackled," he said. The way to do that, he said, is through education and development at all levels.

Prime Minister Modi said he hoped that technology facilitation and technology innovation will contribute to the development of the world and aid in creating wealth for all. He suggested a global education programme be started so that future generations learn to form a relationship with nature. "The principle of common but differentiated responsibilities is the foundation of our enterprise for a sustainable world," he added.

Modi said that India has already begun to focus on these areas. "We are working on bringing changes to our nation, to make our cities smart. Our way to development needs to be sustainable," he said. India is also working towards making agriculture more productive and helping farmers who are suffering due to natural disasters that are a result of climate change.

"The world talks of public and private sector. We are looking at the personal sector. This means individual enterprise and innovation," he explained. If individuals prosper, the world prospers, he said.

For the people of India, it is a matter of satisfaction that there are many similarities between the path India has chosen for development and the UN goals for sustainable development, Modi said. 

PM Modi ended his speech with a mantra from the Upanishad: 

ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः, सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः । सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु, मा कश्चिद्दुःखभाग्भवेत्

Google Play Services 8.1 rolling out in Android devices

Facebook's error page said that the site was "working on it" and would "get it fixed as soon as we can", though that message appears to be automated.

Motorola has announced that its latest Moto E smartphone will no longer be exclusive to Flipkart and will be also sold on e-commerce platforms Amazon and Snapdeal.

Motorola is not only embracing other online platforms to sell its popular smartphone, but also offering the 4G LTE variant at select Airtel stores across the country.

Firefox Hello Beta, developed with our partner Telefónica, is the global communications system built directly into a browser and it will now let you send and receive instant messages when you’re in a video call in Firefox for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Firefox for Android has now fixed the support for playing MP3 files.

The user can chat with Chrome or Opera users because Hello is WebRTC powered, but it is not clear if instant messaging is also supported on those browsers.

The Government will have access to all encrypted information, including personal emails, messages or even data stored on a private business server, according to the draft of a new encryption policy.

The Draft National Encryption Policy wants users to store all encrypted communication for at least 90 days and make it available to security agencies, if required, in text form. It also wants everyone to hand over their encryption keys to the Government.

The draft was formulated by an expert group set up by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) under Section 84A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Since every messaging service and email, including Whatsapp and Gmail, use some form of encryption, this draft would cover almost all instant messages and emails.

Cyberlaw expert Pawan Duggal says the policy is not only dacronian, but also misplaced. “Almost everyone using the Internet will find themselves in violation of these rules and is hence detached from the ground realities. This policy has been drafted for the PC era and does not take into consideration the mobile revolution in the country,” he said.

Duggal says the policy presumes that everyone will fall in line, while the OTT providers, most of whom are based outside India, will not even bother to conform to these rules. “In fact, the policy will be counter productive and will only discourage people from using encryption,” he said, adding that draft was also in contrast to the objectives of the IT Act under which it has been framed.

The draft policy, for which the DeitY has invited comments from the public till October 16, has suggested that “all vendors of encryption products shall register their products with the designated agency of the Government”. The final policy will be drafted only after the feedback is taken into account. At the moment, it seems like the public reaction to this policy will be more aggressive than what was seen when the Net Nutrality policy was drafted as it will affect almost everyone, a majority who are not even aware that they are using encryption technologies.

The preamble of the draft says “the cryptographic policy for domestic use supports the broad use of cryptography” in ways that facilitate privacy and international economic competitiveness. However, in its objectives, it lists the “use of encryption for ensuring the security/ confidentiality of data and to protect privacy in information and communication infrastructure without unduly affecting public safety and National Security”.

The government will regularly notify a list of registered encryption products and only these registered services will be able to conduct business in the country. Duggal says this will only restart a “registration raj” and isolate India further.

Unlike the US, which prevents the export of encryption products, India will allow this with “prior intimation to the designated agency”. But again, “users in India are allowed to use only the products registered in India”.

When contacted, representatives of OTT messaging and email services refused to react to the draft policy.

Apple launch ‘Move to iOS’ app to help migrate Android to iOS

Apple has launched a new app called Move to iOS which help the users transfer their essential data to their iOS device over Wi-Fi when switching phones. According to the Verge, this is the first Android app released by Apple.

The app allows the users to migrate to iOS with just a few steps and they can transfer their content automatically and securely from their Android device with the Move to iOS app, which covers contacts, calendars, email accounts, message history and their camera roll.

The app will automatically set up a private Wi-Fi network and request a security code from the user and then transfer all the data The app should help people switch to the new iPhones when they launch on September 25th 2015. It works with previous iPhones as well and is compatible with Android devices running KitKat 4.0 or newer.

After announcing the iOS 9 in June at WWDC 2015, Apple is finally releasing the new OS today.

Improved battery life and new features in Apple Maps are other improvements that will come along with the iOS 9 update.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh. On Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. The Ganesh Chaturthi 2015 Puja Muhurut to bring the Vigraha / Idol home is during the Shubh, Labh or Amrit Choghadiya. If you intend to bring Ganpati ji one day before, i.e. on the 16th September 2015, the Labh time is between 06:30 and 08:01 and the Amrit time is 08:01 and 09:32 . Ganpati ji can also be brought home (Avahana or Welcome) during the Shubh time which is between 11:03 and 12:33 . The Muhurut for evening time would be the Labh time which is between 17:06 and 18:37 . Please note these Timings are as per panchang of Mumbai, India .

The Ganesh Staphna (installation of the Idol) on Ganesh Chaturthi day, i.e. on 17th September 2015 can be done at Char time between 11:02 and 12:33 or Shubh Time i.e. between 06:30 and 08:01 . Ganesh Pooja is preferred during Madhyanhana on Ganesh Chaturthi as it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahana Kaal which is between 12:33 and 15:35 . The Muhurut time specified above is the best Muhurut to perform the Ganesh Puja and to perform any work.

Reliance 4G Broadband  

RIL’s telecom arm Reliance Jio Infocomm today announced the launch of unlimited free WiFi service, Jionet, at select pandals during ongoing Ganesh Utsav (Only Mumbai).

Devotees visiting Lalbaug Cha Raja, Andheri Cha Raja and Sahyadri Cha Raja pandals during 11-days long festival will be able to access high speed wi-fi internet services through their mobile devices, the company said in a statement.

The users feedback on the overall experience and network will be used to improve the services further as Jio gets ready for its formal launch, it added.

“Once 4G LTE service commences, wi-fi and LTE networks will operate seamlessly with each other,” the statement said. The company is expected to commercially launch its 4G services by the end of this year. Visitors at any of the three pandals will have to scan and select Jionet, fill their details in a message that will appear on their device and later enter one-time password to start using wi-fi service.

The system will automatically log the user out after every 30 minutes of inactivity, and the user has to log in again with the same password,” the statement said.
