The
OnePlus 3 is expected to launch sometime in the second quarter of this year,
and a benchmark website may have revealed key specifications and features of
the upcoming flagship smartphone. According to GizmoChina, OnePlus is hosting
an event in Beijing on April 7, where the OnePlus 3 could be unveiled. This in
contrast to earlier reports, which pegged early June as a likely launch
timeframe.
A OnePlus
device with model number A3000 was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark website. It
features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset,
Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
The
OnePlus 3 is also expected to feature 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear
camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and it runs on Android Marshmallow-based
Oxygen OS.
According
to leaked photos, the upcoming OnePlus 3 will look very different from the
OnePlus 2, and will also boast a dedicated camera shutter button. It is also
expected to feature dual-LED flash at the back, an Alert Slider on the side,
and a USB-Type C port.
OnePlus
co-founder Pete Lau recently revealed the company’s plans to launch the
OnePlus 3 sometime in the second quarter of this year. It however looks
unlikely that OnePlus could unveil its flagship smartphone so early, and we
would advise you to take this with the proverbial pinch of salt. What we know
for sure though is that the OnePlus 3 will be “more expensive than the
OnePlus 2.”
