LG India on Monday launched the X screen smartphone in India, priced at Rs. 12,990. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Snapdeal from Wednesday. Launch offers on the LG X screen include Rs. 650 cashback for SBI users, a free subscription to Hungama Play and Hungama Play Apps, and a Vodafone 4G data offer.
The highlight of the LG X screen is its dual display setup - the Always On display, similar to what we've seen on the LG V10 and the LG G5, is 4.93 inches in size and comes with with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The second display, which measures 1.76 inches diagonally and is placed about the primary display, has a resolution 520x80 pixel.
The LG X screen's second display will show notifications for apps, calls without interrupting the current activity or just display music controls. The second display also allows users to check time, date, battery status and other notifications without ever having to turn on the phone.
It's this secondary display that LG is using to tout the X screen as the "first phone with SOS mode." The secondary display will show the SOS button, and the panic button can be activated by pressing the power button five times in a row.
