It takes
a lot to push Apple to release an app on Android. Its first ever was the Moveto iOS app, which is just to help users transfer files from Google's mobile OS
to Apple's. But the second will actually be useful for Android users: a management
app for the Beats Pill+, the first speaker Beats has made since the company was
acquired by Apple last summer.
The app
itself is pretty straightforward, letting users name their Pill+, monitor its
battery life, control who's playing what, and link up a pair of speakers to
play music in stereo. It would have been silly, of course, for Apple to only
release the app on iOS, especially as the Pill+ is the best speaker Beats has
ever made — a refinement rather than a
redesign of previous products, with minimalist looks and improved sound
quality.
