Google Drive :
Whether it’s recounting a
story, watching a video, or enjoying photos with family and friends, our
memories help us reconnect with what’s really important. And every month, nearly a
billion people use WhatsApp to do just that.
Of course: you don’t want your
memories stuck on your phone. (What if something happens?!)
So starting today,
WhatsApp for Android lets you create a private backup of your chat history,
voice messages, photos, and videos in Google Drive. And once you do, you can
restore everything on a new device with just a couple taps.
The new backup feature
is rolling out over the next few months, so keep an eye on your WhatsApp
settings to see if it’s available. In the meantime, please visit our Help Center
if you have questions about today’s update. And check out our developer site if
you’d like to integrate your app with Google Drive.

The
only version with Google Drive support is version 2.12.303. This is the version
that is hosted on WhatsApp's website, but it is not the version hosted on the
Play Store. In fact, the Play Store version is 2.12.304 (which has Drive
support disabled), so you won't be able to install this if you're already on
the most recent version. Be sure to turn off automatic updates for a while if
you manage to upgrade to 2.12.303.

Google Translate :
Speaking and reading
messages in foreign languages has become much easier in recent years thanks to
apps such as Google Translate.
Now Google has updated
its Translate app to allow it to operate within apps such as TripAdvisor and
WhatsApp, meaning no more switching back and forwards to translate text.
Beginning this week, you’ll be able to translate in 90 languages right from within some of your favourite apps like TripAdvisor, WhatsApp and LinkedIn.
Google
showed how the tool works within WhatsApp, to instantly translate a message
from one of 90 languages to another, or translate a review in TripAdvisor.
Google revealed that
more than 500 million people translate over 100 billion words a day on Google
Translate, which added ‘conversation mode’ in January of
this year.
It's hoped developers will enable the function on more and more appsFeature is available to people with the latest Android OS - Marshmallow.
