Motorola Moto X(2016) gets benchmark with Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM

The Moto X (2016) is said to have passed the Geekbench benchmark test with a Snapdragon 820 SoC on board. The benchmark results shown in an image posted by Mobipicker also reveal further details about the handset's innards.

The Moto X (2016) is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with Adreno 530 GPU, and 4GB of RAM. It is likely to be available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.

Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing announced that Motorola will be unveiling something ‘new and exciting’ on June 9. This could very well be Motorola’s latest flagship smartphone. Considering the launch date, the Moto X (2016) could also be among the first smartphones to run on Android N out-of-the-box. Apart from the Moto X (2016), reports also claim that Motorola could launch Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus smartphones at the same event.

Some of the other details rumoured for the Moto X3 include a USB Type-C port while the handset was seen featuring the iconic Motorola logo "M" on top of the screen. A recent listing on Zauba, an import and export tracking site, had tipped that the anticipated Motorola Moto X3 smartphone was shipped to India. The listing further suggested that the Moto X3 may feature a 5-inch display and support a single SIM card.

Considering that Lenovo has confirmed plans to overhaul the Moto brand to "Moto by Lenovo", the Moto X3 aka Moto X (2016) smartphone is unlikely to don just Motorola branding. We will have to wait for the handset's unveiling to find out the new branding.
