That's
according to a report by SamMobile, which claims the forthcoming phablet will
be IP68 certified. That means it would be waterproof up to a depth of 1.5m for
30 minutes, equalling the Galaxy S7. If true, this would make the Note 6 Samsung's first waterproof,
dust-resistant phablet.
The new
Galaxy Note is usually revealed towards the end of the summer at gadget trade
show IFA, which takes place at the start of September. Though last year,
Samsung went early, and revealed the Note 5 on August 13th. Rumours
are already swirling that it could launch the Note 6 even earlier this year,
possibly as early as mid-July.
For rest
of the specifications, previous rumors had hinted that the Note 6 could flaunt
a 5.8-inch QHD display and sport up to 8GB of RAM. In terms of camera, the Note 6
could use the same 12-megapixel f/1.7 sensor used on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy
S7 edge. When we reviewed the Galaxy S7, we found that the camera performs far
better than the iPhone 6s Plus, especially in low light conditions.
According to a report by SamMobile Galaxy Note 6 will be powered by a 64-bit Kryo 2.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor with Adreno 530 GPU.
With an
internal codename ‘Grace,’ the Galaxy Note 6 is likely to run Android N out-of-the-box with
a layer of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. Samsung has also started mass production of
256GB memory chip with UFS 2.0 (Universal Flash Storage) for mobile devices,
and it is rumored that the Galaxy Note 6 could come with 256GB storage option. The early
release also hints that Google could be ready with the final version of Android
N by July.
