Motorola,
now owned by Lenovo, is expected to launch its upcoming smartphones, Moto G4
and Moto G4 Plus on 17th May. The company is reportedly sending invites to
various media organization for an event on that date. However, as reported, the
invite does not say anything about the devices, but the phones are highly
expected to be launched in the event.

The
fourth-gen Moto G aka Moto G4 has been on the rumor mills for quite some time
now. Reports also claim that Motorola could be launching not one but two
smartphones — Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus. Both smartphones are believed to
have similar set of specifications, though the Moto G4 Plus will boast a
fingerprint scanner as well.
We have
come across leaked photos hinting at a design with curved edges, matte finish,
and a pill-shaped camera strip at the back. The Moto G4 Plus is likely to boast
a square-ish shaped fingerprint scanner placed in front below the display. It
is also likely to feature a laser autofocus for the camera, something that you
won’t get with the Moto G4.
Details
are scarce, but reports claim that both smartphones will feature a 5.5-inch
1080p display, an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. A
couple of reports also claim that the smartphones will feature a 13-megapixel
rear camera.
We have
also come across reports saying that the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus will be
available somewhere in the region of 240 Euros (Rs 18,000 approximately), and
280 Euros (Rs 21,000 approximately) respectively. This is unlikely to be the
final pricing, since the Moto G smartphones till now have been priced around
the Rs 10,000 mark.
