Lenovo Phab2 Pro is the first Tango smartphone launched: Specs and Features


Lenovo, commenced its Tech World Show event with a bang as it launched the world's first Google Tango-enabled smartphone, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. The phablet has been made by Lenovo in collaboration with Google. The Chinese tech firm announced its partnership with the search giant for such handset earlier this year.

The PHAB2 will be priced at $499 (which is approximately Rs 33,500) and and will be available globally starting September. The handset will be available unlocked in Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey colour variants.

The Phab 2 Pro features a metal unibody and is the company's first attempt in bringing the augmented reality and virtual reality on to the hands of consumers , the device can create 3D maps of the user’s surroundings in real-time.. The multiple cameras placed at the back panel work in tandem to bring improved augmented reality effect on the handset display. It includes three basic sensors - motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning. The device can be used for educational purposes, gaming, measuring spaces and more. 

Lenovo PHAB2 Pro specifications and features: 

The phablet features a full metal unibody design, fingerprint scanner at the back and audio technologies such as Dolby ATMOS and it is the first smartphone with Dolby 5.1 Audio capture.

It flaunts a 6.4-inch QHD IPS display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. With 64GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot is also present. With AR and VR as one of the key highlights, the phablet features an 8-megpaixel front facing camera, a 16-megpaixel RGB camera, a motion camera and a depth sensing camera.

The phablet sports 4,050mAh battery with fast charging feature and battery life that can last up to 15 hours on single charge, Lenovo claims. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
