Many are only just getting used to
smartphones featuring 4GB or 6GB of RAM. But seems like they are not adequate
for LeEco. Rumor has it that the company is working on a flagship smartphone
that will be powered a combination of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset and 8GB
of RAM. Yes, you read that right — 8GB of RAM!
These specifications will come in an
upgraded version of LeEco’s Le Max2 smartphone, GizChina reports. The
current-gen Le Max2 is no weakling by any stretch of imagination. It comes with
features like QHD display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB and 6GB RAM options,
21-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,100mAh battery, and
fingerprint scanner.
Instead of being thrilled though, it
raises the question — how much is enough? Smartphones with 4GB of RAM are
powerful enough to handle multi-tasking and graphic-intensive games with
relative ease. But now there’s a race between companies to offer devices with
6GB of RAM. But for some reason LeEco feels that isn’t enough either and it
wants to offer as much RAM as a computer in a smartphone.
