Moto E (2016) may have Bluetooth certification

Remember the Lenovo XT1700 and XT1706 that were spotted on GFXBench back in March? Both devices have now received certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), indicating an imminent launch.

Lenovo had put end to rumors that the company would kill the popular Moto E and Moto G lineup. This year Motorola launched two new Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus devices. Now, it seems that the Moto E2016 is all set to hit the market soon.

While there have been plenty of rumors in the past, a smartphone, likely to be the Moto E (2016), has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG. The listing also reveals that the smartphone will come with support for Bluetooth 4.1 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The listing hints that the official launch could be around the corner.

While the Bluetooth listing doesn’t reveal a lot of details, but the recent leaks have given a fair idea about what to expect from the new Moto E smartphone. From what we know so far, the Moto E (2016) will feature a 5-inch 720p display resolution. It will be powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer will be 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for further memory expansion. On the camera front, the device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The Bluetooth certification also confirms that the smartphone will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

Right now there is no word on the official pricing of the Moto E 2016, but a listing on the import and export site Zauba had revealed a price tag of Rs 5,169. This is unlikely to be the final pricing, but the official launch price could be similar.
