OnePlus
has sent invites for the OnePlus 3 launch in India on June 15. The smartphone
will be globally announced on June 14 via a VR launch at 10PM IST. Another important thing is that the OnePlus 3 will be available
on open sale from the day one as the company has finally bid adieu to its
invite-only system. It remains to be seen whether the OnePlus 3 goes on sale in
India on the same day or the company will only showcase the smartphone and
announce its India pricing at the event.
OnePlus
hasn’t officially revealed a lot of details about its latest flagship
smartphone, but it has hinted at major redesign over its predecessors.
According to the official video teaser released last week, the OnePlus 3 will
come with a metal unibody, ditching its iconic sandstone back.
OnePlus 3 specifications
and features:
Based on
recent rumors and leaks, the smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch full HD
display. It will run OxygenOS based on Android Marshmallow and will be powered
by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor along with 4GB of RAM. The company may
also launch a 6GB variant of the smartphone. Rumors suggest the OnePlus 3 will
be available in as many as six variants with base model featuring 32GB internal
storage along with 4GB of RAM, and the highest one featuring 128GB internal
storage with 6GB of RAM.
The
OnePlus 3 is likely to include a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED
flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. According to rumors, OnePlus may
integrated its ‘Dash Charge’ fast-charging technology to charge the 3,000 mAh battery.
Connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac,
Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type-C port.
We’ll have
to wait and see how OnePlus 3 is priced in India and what variants are made
available. So far the OnePlus series has always launched with Amazon India
first.
