A couple
of weeks ago, a yet to be announced Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy C5 with
model number (SM-C5000) was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website. It
revealed some of the key specifications of the smartphone. Now, in a fresh new
leak, photos of the alleged Samsung Galaxy C5 with metal body have surfaced on
French publication nowhereelse. These photos offer the clearest look at the
front and back design of the smartphone.
As we can
see in the photos, the front panel looks identical to Samsung’s 2015
flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6. On the front, there is a camera module,
earpiece and ambient light sensor above the screen, whereas a physical home
button flanked by capacitive touch buttons for back and app switcher can be
seen at the bottom. The home button is also likely to come embedded with a
fingerprint scanner for authentication.
Turn to
the back, and you have an all metal shiny body. However, the design looks
inspired from HTC One A9 and Apple iPhone 6. It has the antenna lines across
the top and bottom, and rounded corners. There’s also a square-shaped
camera module with dual tone LED flash besides it. The leaked photos also show
volume buttons on the left edge, power / sleep button on the right edge along
with the SIM card tray. The microUSB and 3.5mm audio port are placed at the
bottom.
From what
we’ve learned earlier, the new Galaxy C-Series will be placed in the
mid-range price bracket, sitting between the Galaxy A and Galaxy J series.
Based on the Geekbench listing, the smartphone is likely to flaunt a 5.2-inch
or 5.5-inch full HD display, and powered by Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor
paired with 4GB of RAM. Other features such as a 16-megapixel rear camera and
8-megapixel front facing camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE are also expected.
While
pricing and availability details are scarce at the moment, we expect to come
across more leaks as we inch closer to its official launch.
