India ahead of its Tuesday event where it is widely expected to launch the
fourth generation of the Moto G smartphone, has confirmed the availability
details. The company on its Twitter handle on Wednesday revealed that the next
Moto G - the Moto G (Gen 4) aka Moto G4 - smartphone will be Amazon India
exclusive.
“We have witnessed tremendous growth in the e-commerce market and
it will continue to be the dominating channel for us as we bring new products
to the India market. Amazon.in is the one of the best online marketplaces in
India and we are glad to announce that we have exclusively partnered with
Amazon India for our next Motorola smartphone,” Motorola Mobility India’s country
head Amit Boni said in a press release.

Motorola
had also been teasing the features of the upcoming Moto G smartphones, which
hints at a bigger battery, fingerprint scanner, fast autofocus camera and more.
We’ve also come across the leaked design that shows off the
square-shaped fingerprint scanner on the front, which is embedded inside the
home button. On the back, there is a capsule shaped camera module with dual LED
flash and a laser autofocus module too.
Motorola Moto G4
specifications and features:
Based on
rumors, the smartphone is likely to house a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display
with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection. It could be powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit
Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM, Adreno 505 GPU and 16GB
onboard storage. A microSD card slot for further expansion is also likely to be
in tow.
With a
13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing unit, connectivity
options such as dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS could be
present. The smartphone is likely to pack a 3,000mAh battery and run on Android
6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

Moto G4 Plus specifications and features:
It is expected to be a slightly
upgraded version with display size and processor same as that on the Moto G4.
The Moto G4 Plus could pack 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage,
16-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing unit. With 3,000mAh
battery, dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth and NFC, the
smartphone is expected to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. That’s not
all; the Moto G4 Plus could also include a fingerprint scanner, which may not
be present on the Moto G4.
As of
now, there is no word on the pricing of both smartphones, but we will keep you
updated as and when Motorola launches these smartphones on May 17.
