Lenovo has launched its Vibe K5 Note smartphone today in India. Prices start from Rs 11,999, and the smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart, starting from August 3. Successor to the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note that launched earlier this year, the Vibe K5 Note comes with more RAM and a better processor than its predecessor.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is also tad different from the Lenovo K5 Note that launched in China this year. While the India variant has 4GB of RAM, the China variant came with 2GB of RAM. Moreover, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note comes with the TheaterMax technology, which was introduced with the Vibe K4 Note. While the smartphone is bundled with an ANTVR headset, this time, Lenovo is also launching a new TheaterMax Bluetooth controller.
The Vibe K5 Note has launched today in two variants. The variant with 3GB of RAM is priced at Rs 11,999, while the variant with 4GB of RAM is priced at Rs 13,499. Both variants will be exclusively available via Flipkart from August 3 in three colors — champagne gold, graphite grey and platinum silver.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note specifications and features
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note has a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor paired with Mali-T860 GPU. Also on offer is 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
On the photography front, the Vibe K5 Note comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF support, supplemented with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone has a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging support, and Wolfson audio hub along with Dolby ATMOS support. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner that is fast enough to unlock the device in 0.3 seconds. The scanner can also be used for other functions like returning to the home screen or clicking selfies among others.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, USB OTG and Bluetooth.
The smartphone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under Vibe UI. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone comes preloaded with TheaterMax technology for VR. The smartphone also comes with a Secure Zone feature. Similar to Xiaomi MIUI 8’s Dual App and Second Space, the feature lets you run two separate accounts on the phone. In simpler words, you can run two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone.
