When the initial leaks and rumors around Samsung Galaxy Note7 started floating in, they hinted at 6GB of RAM, 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage options. In fact, one of the benchmark listing also revealed 6GB of RAM. However, when Samsung launched the Galaxy Note7 earlier this week, a lot of people were disappointed to see 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Now, based on the TENAA listing, it seems like the Galaxy Note7 may come with 6GB of RAM after all.
Spotted by SamMobile, a variant of Samsung Galaxy Note7, carrying model number SM-N9300 was recently certified by China’s regulatory authority, TENAA. In the certification listing, the authority has added a remark that there will be a version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. While it’s not clear if the version will make it to other countries, but looks like the Chinese variant my boast 2GB additional RAM and double the internal storage compared to the global variant. Rest of the specifications of the phablet are expected to be the same.

The Galaxy Note7 flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD super AMOLED dual-edge curved display and is also the first device to sport Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Powered by 64-bit Exynos 8890 octa-core processor or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-processor, the global variant features 4GB of RAM, 64GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 256GB.
For shutterbugs, a 12-megapixel dual pixel rear camera (aperture f/1.7) with phase detection auto focus, 4K video recording capabilities and LED flash is present. Up front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera (aperture f/1.7). The Galaxy Note7 is armed with a 3,500mAh battery and supports both – wireless fast charging and fast charging via data cable. On the connectivity front, you get dual SIM 4G LTE (hybrid SIM card slot), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. The phablet also sports the latest USB Type-C connector for data transfer and charging.
Samsung has included some of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge features on the Galaxy Note7 — such as IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, ‘always on’ display and a heart rate sensor. The S-Pen stylus, which is the USP feature of the Galaxy Note-series gets new Air Command functions such as magnification, text translate and quickly memos that can also be noted down when the screen is turned off. That’s not all; the S-Pen stylus is water resistant as well. On the software front, the Galaxy Note7 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based TouchWiz UI. Samsung has also promised an update to Android Nougat 7.0 after it is officially launched.
The Galaxy Note7 could launch in India next week on August 11 and likely to be priced around Rs 63,000, which is Rs 10,000 more than the launch price of Galaxy Note 5.
