Samsung India sends out invites for event on August 23, could launch the Tizen-based Z2


Samsung is all set to launch its new Tizen based smartphone in India called Samsung Z2. The Z2 phone could be launched in India on 23 August. It will come with 4G LTE connectivity.

The company has started sending out media invites for an launch event of new smartphone. As you can see in the invite above, the company doesn’t mention anything about Samsung Z2. 

According to reports, the Samsung Z2 could be priced around $70, which is approximately Rs 4,499. It is also set to be available in countries including India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, South Africa, Indonesia, Nepal and United Arab Emirates.

From what we know so far, the Samsung Z2 will feature a 3.97-inch (800×480 pixels) LCD display, and will be powered by a 1.5GHz processor paired with 1GB RAM. It is also likely to come with 8GB storage, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 1,500mAh battery and connectivity options like 4G with VoLTE support, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. On the software front, the smartphone will run on Tizen OS 3.0, and few reports also suggest that it will be equipped with S Bike Mode and My Money Transfer App.
