Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) spotted with 3GB of RAM, fingerprint sensor and Exynos chipset

Towards the end of last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 smartphones in India, and followed them with the Galaxy On5 Pro and Galaxy On7 Pro last month. Samsung however seems to be far from done with this series, and is rumored to be soon launching the Galaxy On7 (2016). The smartphone has been spotted on a benchmarking website that reveals some of its key specs and features.

Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016), spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench, is codenamed SM-G610F. It features an Exynos 7870 processor and SamMobile reports that the device is headed to India. The report says another variant powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 may only be released in China. If the reports turn out to be true, Samsung might expand its Exynos chipsets to more devices starting with Galaxy On7 (2016). In line with previous leaks, the processors will be paired with 3GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is likely to feature 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The smartphone is reportedly featuring a 4.8-inch Full HD display. Samsung’s Galaxy On7 devices currently available in the market feature a 5.5-inch display and with 2016 model, Samsung might be going after users looking at compact smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is also reported to feature a fingerprint scanner. This will be the first mid-range device from Samsung to feature a fingerprint sensor. Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) could be priced under Rs 15,000 when it launches in India. According to recent smartphone shipment reports by IDC, Samsung gained significant market share in India on the back of strong sales of Galay J series and On series. Samsung Galaxy On 7 and On 5 are online only devices sold exclusively on Flipkart.

Samsung recently announced Galaxy J2 (2016) with unique Smart Glow feature. The smart glow luminates a LED ring around the rear camera for different incoming notifications.
