Oppo F1s with 16 megapixel selfie Camera launched in India: Price, Specs and Features


Chinese smartphone maker Oppo on today launched the Oppo F1s selfie-focused smartphone at an event in Mumbai, India. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 17,990, and will go on sale from August 11 via Amazon India and retail stores across the country. It will be made available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Grey colour variants.

Sky Li, Oppo Global VP, MD of International Mobile Business and President of Oppo India, said in an emailed statement on the F1s Launch, "Being a priority market for Oppo, we understand Indian consumer's demand for excellent camera quality and the ongoing selfie craze. Oppo has a rich experience in camera technology and has been the industry leader with several accolades and awards to its credit. And today we are carrying this legacy forward and stepping up the selfie revolution, by launching the upgraded Selfie Expert - F1s to share advanced photography technology with an even wider range of users in India and also offer them an outstanding photographic experience."

The smartphone also sports a fingerprint sensor on the home button, and Oppo claims it unlocks the F1s in as little as 0.22 seconds. The company is also touting the fingerprint sensor based shortcuts on the Oppo F1s for making voice calls and launching apps.

The Oppo F1s sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture, certainly the highlight of the smartphone. Other selfie-focused features on the smartphone include its Beautify 4.0 app for selfie editing, the Selfie Panorama feature that stitches together three selfies, and the Screen Flash feature.

Oppo F1s specifications

The Oppo F1s comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is a 32GB of expandable internal storage which can be further expanded to 128GB via microSD card.

The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF, 1/3-inch sensor and a large f2.2 apertures. It has a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with 78.1 degree wide-angle view, 1/3.1-inch sensor and a large f/2.0 aperture. It also features Beautify 4.0, Screen Flash and ISOCELL technology.

The device comes with a 3,075mAh battery which the company claims will give a backup of 14 hours. Connectivity options include triple-card slot tray for two nano SIM cards and an SD card, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, OTG support and USB 2.0. The Oppo F1s runs ColorOS 3.0 based on Android Lollipop 5.1 out-of-the-box.
