Moto Z and Moto Z Play smartphones will be going on sale in India on Monday. The Moto Z has been priced at Rs. 39,999, while the Moto Z Play has been priced at Rs. 24,999. The smartphones will be available via Amazon and Flipkart from 11:59pm IST on Monday.
The Moto Mods, little modules that add more more to the phone in the form of battery life, a zoom camera or projection, have been launched in India with discounted bundle pricing. The JBL SoundBoost Speaker is priced Rs 6,999, but will cost only Rs 5,999 when bought with the phone. The Hasselblad True Zoom Camera similarly has a price of Rs 19,999 and bundle price of Rs 14,999. The Instashare Projector costs Rs 19,999 and Rs 15,999 in the bundles, the Incipio offGRIDtm Power Pack similarly costs Rs 5,999 and Rs 4999. The new Style Shells - Wood & Ballistic Nylon - Rs 1099 and bundle price of Rs 899. The new Leather for Rs 1599 and bundle price of Rs 1299.
The company has a few offers lined up for buyers opting for either of the Moto Z smartphones and the Moto Mods. For starters, a wooden Moto style shell will be pre-bundled in the box. Exchange offers have become a huge trend on both Amazon India and Flipkart, and the Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available with exchange bonuses of up to Rs 25,500. Buyers will also be able to take advantage of ‘no cost’ EMI offers that start from Rs 2,084 for Moto Z Play and Rs 3,334 for the Moto Z. Additionally, buyers using an Axis Bank or Standard Chartered card will receive cash back of up to 10 percent on Flipkart.
The Moto Z joins smartphones like Le Eco’s Le 2 series smartphones and the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in removing the 3.5mm audio jack. This ultimately results in using USB Type-C port for charging and audio.

The Moto Z comes with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display. It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB storage onboard, which can be expanded using a microSD card.
For photography, the Moto Z Play sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with laser auto-focus, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K video recording capabilities. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features of the smartphone include fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C port. Unlike the Moto Z, this smartphone comes with the 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with a 3,510mAh battery along with turbo charging support.
