Samsung Galaxy On Nxt launching in India today


Samsung India is holding a event in Kolkatta on Thursday where it will launch two smartphones, with one of them expected to the next Samsung Galaxy On smartphone. In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Samsung teased the launch and also confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy On smartphone will be Flipkart exclusive.

Meanwhile, Flipkart has listed the device on its website. "Samsung Galaxy On Nxt..all that you need reveal today at 8 PM," reads the listing. This means that the phone will either be launched at 8 PM or will be available for purchase/registration from 8 PM today.

Samsung Galaxy On Nxt specifications and features

The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, Adreno 506 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. There is also likely to be 32GB onboard storage, which will be further expandable up to 256GB.

In the photography department, the Galaxy On Nxt is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. Up front, could be an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/1.9 aperture as well. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery and would be equipped with fast charging support.

As for connectivity, the expected options are dual-SIM support and 4G VoLTE support. For software, the Samsung Galaxy On Nxt will probably run on Android Marshmallow but an update to Android Nougat is expected to be available shortly after the launch. Also, the home button on the Galaxy On Nxt is expected to double up as a fingerprint scanner. Although they differ in terms of the series, it is believed that the Galaxy On Nxt could be an upgraded rendition of the Galaxy J7 Prime.

To recall, Samsung earlier this month unveiled the Galaxy On8 priced at Rs. 15,900 which was exclusively available via Flipkart. The biggest highlight of the Samsung Galaxy On8 was its 5.5-inch full-HD Super Amoled display.
