Motorola has teased a smartphone launch for June 1. Motorola Canada took to Twitter to announce about the upcoming smartphone with a tweet that reads — “Guess what?! We’re announcing the next bold phone from Motorola on June 1st.” While the identity of the smartphone is still under wraps, it is widely expected to be the much-rumored Moto Z2 Play.
Moto Z2 Play specifications, features
From what we know so far, Moto Z2 Play will come with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, which happens to be the same as the Moto Z Play. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 626 chip clocked at 2.2GHz, and paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.
On the camera front, the smartphone could sport a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with a f/1.7 aperture and Dual-Pixel auto-focus, Sony IMX362 sensor, laser auto-focus and 4K video recording. In comparison, the original Moto Z Play had a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Up front, the smartphone might feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision OV5695 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash. Lenovo is reportedly dropping the Z2 Play’s battery from 3,510mAh to 3.000mAh. The decrease in battery capacity will sure come with a drop in the device’s thickness as well.
While the Moto Z2 Play is widely expected to be launched tomorrow, rumors also hint at two other upcoming smartphones – Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus. As the names suggest, these will be nothing but slightly modified versions of the Moto G5
