After the incremental success of the Redmi Note 4 in India, and the recent entry of the budget Redmi 4A in India, fans are waiting for Xiaomi to complete the 4 series, with the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 4. While a number a big and small details about the smartphone has been leaked in last few weeks, the launch date of the smartphone’s been a question mark. However, Xiaomi is scheduled to hold an event in India next week, and after the Redmi teaser that Xiaomi recently shared on Twitter, it is all but confirmed that the Redmi 4 is on its way. According to Amazon India, The Xiaomi Redmi 4 will be launch in India on 16th May. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 was exclusively available on Amazon India.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 price, specifications and features
In China, the Redmi 4 was launched in two variants, wherein the affordable variant was priced at RMB 699, which translates to about Rs 6,500. This variant was powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB onboard storage. On the other hand, the higher variant of the Redmi 4 was priced at RMB 899, which come to approximately Rs 8,800. This model was powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB onboard storage.
Except the processor, RAM and storage, the two Xiaomi Redmi 4 variants share most of the specifications and features. Which means, the two featured a 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) with 2.5D curved glass IPS display, and a microSD card slot to expand the onboard storage up to 128GB.
In the photography department, the Redmi 4 sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase detection auto-focus (PDAF support). On the front, it equips a 5-megapixel camera. The smartphone is fuelled by a 4,100mAh battery, which is the same as the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime.
The Redmi 4 features a fingerprint scanner at the back, just below the primary camera. Besides, it also has the usual connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, the device runs on Android Marshmallow wrapped under MIUI 8 out-of-the-box.
