Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 along with Nokia 3310 listed online in the UK; price, availability details revealed

HMD Global has given a tentative timeline of the launch of its Nokia smartphones in India. According to the company, the new Nokia devices will release in India by the end of Q2 2017. It, however, hasn’t yet revealed the precise date or price points of the smartphones. Weeks ahead of the India release, HMD Global’s Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 along with reincarnated Nokia 3310 have gone up for pre-orders in the UK.

According to an online listing, the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 will be available in the UK starting June 30. The two smartphones will be priced at £149.99 (Rs 12,500 approximately) and £189.99 ( Rs 16,000 approximately) respectively. The global version of the Nokia will also be available next month and will be priced at £229.99, which translates to roughly Rs 19,000. The rebranded Nokia 3310 will be launching next month. The listing reveals the phone will be priced at  £59.99, which is approximately Rs 5,000.

Even though HMD Global has stressed that India is going to be one its top markets, it’s surprising that the country is not among the first lot. A few days ago Nokia 3310 was listed on an Indian website, claiming that the device will be available starting May 5. However, the company quashed the claims stating it will be providing official information on the same in the coming weeks.

While the company is gearing up to launch the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones, there are also rumors of two premium smartphones, dubbed as the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9. According to recent leaks, the Nokia 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 835 processor. It will run Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

The smartphone is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display. It is likely to come with 22-megapixel rear camera and 12-megapixel front facing camera with flash. The company is expected to bring back highly acclaimed Carl Zeiss optics for better camera performance. Rumors further suggest the smartphone will be available in two storage versions – 64GB and 128GB – both featuring 6GB of RAM. It will draw juice from a 3,500mAh battery.

As far as the Nokia 8 goes, the smartphone is expected to feature 5.7-inch QHD display. It could come with slightly older Snapdragon 821 processor. It will also be available in two storage versions, 64GB and 128GB. For photography, the Nokia 8 is expected to sport a 24-megapixel rear camera with OIS. Up front, the smartphone could feature a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
