Asus is widely expected to unveil the next generation of Zenfone series smartphones at Computex 2017 in Taipei. The annual trade show is set to take place starting May 30. This year, Asus is expected to launch three or more Zenfone 4-series smartphones. Few details about the smartphones have already surfaced, giving us a rough idea of what to expect from these smartphones. The latest leaked photos offer a glimpse at the upcoming smartphones.
According to the leaked photos, all the three models belong to different price segment. The battery life centric Asus Zenfone 4 Max is a mid-range device, Zenfone 4 in the upper-mid range and Zenfone 4S in the high-end premium category. We have heard about all the above three smartphones either via leaks or benchmark scores.
Asus Zenfone 4 Max
From what we know so far, the Asus Zenfone 4 Max is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with a 1280 X 720 resolution. The smartphone might be powered by a Qualcomm octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz and paired with 3GB RAM. Also on offer is 32GB of internal storage. Further rumors suggest that the smartphone might pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 or 660 processor.
In the photography department, the smartphone the Zenfone 4 Max, as we can see in the photo, will sport a dual rear camera setup which is capable of shooting 4K videos. The dual-setup could be a 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensors. Up front, there an 8-megapixel selfie camera is also expected. The smartphone is likely to run Android 7.0 Nougat OS out-of-the-box.
However, one thing worth noting is that the Zenfone 4 Max could come with a similar design as that of last years Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, which also comes with dual camera setup. The only difference is the placement of the fingerprint scanner. The Zenfone 3 Zoom has a square-shaped rear fingerprint sensor as compared to capsule-shaped front fingerprint scanner on the Zenfone 4 Max.

Asus Zenfone 4
The Asus Zenfone 4 will be the successor to last year’s Zenfone 3 smartphone. Thanks to benchmark listings, we have a fair idea as to what to expect from the smartphone. According to a GFXBench listing spotted recently, the smartphone is expected to come with a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display.
At the heart, the smartphone might be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. If this stands true, the move will be rather surprising considering the company will be using last year’s chipset on its 2017 flagship device rather than the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. The smartphone is also expected to feature 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. On the camera front, the smartphone is said to come with a 21-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The Zenfone 4 will run Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
Apart from this, Asus is also expected to launch another smartphone called Zenfone 4S. Unfortunately, there is little to no information available on this device as yet. On the other hand, Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom is said to launch as Asus Zenfone Zoom S in select markets. From what we have heard so far, the device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out-of-the-box with guaranteed Android Nougat 7.0 update later. The device is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. It would come in three storage variants – 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
