Asus has today launched its Zenfone 3 series of smartphones in India. The series includes four new devices — Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Zenfone 3 Ultra and ZenFone 3 Laser. Prices for the smartphones start from Rs 21,999, and the Zenfone 3 is set to go on sale today, while the other three will be going on sale next month.
The Asus Zenfone 3 is 5.2" inch priced at Rs 21,999 and 5.5" inch priced at Rs. 27,999 and it will be available today on all major e-commerce sites, and major offline stores before the end of this month. The Zenfone 3 Laser is priced at Rs 18,999 and will be going on sale next month of all major e-commerce sites and offline channels.
Similarly the Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra too are going on sale with each priced at Rs 49,999 respectively.
Asus Zenfone 3 specifications and features
The Zenfone 3 will be available in two variants — the ZE520KL comes with 5.2-inch display, 32GB onboard storage, 3GB RAM and 2,650mAh battery. While ZE552KL comes with 5.5-inch display, 64GB onboard storage, 4GB RAM and 3,000mAh battery. The rest of the specifications though remain the same.
In essence you get a full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display along with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU.
In the photographic department, the Zenfone 3 is equipped with a 16-megapixel PixelMaster 3.0 snapper at the back with f/2.0 aperture, laser auto-focus, and support for PDAF and OIS. Up front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, and 88 degrees wide-angle lens.
The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner and a hybrid setup wherein you can either use a micro SIM card (4G) and a nano SIM (3G), or replace one with a microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under the ZenUI 3.0.
Asus Zenfone 3 Laser specifications and features
The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass protection, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 64-bit octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. Also on offer is 32GB onboard storage.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Laser features a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, second-generation laser auto-focus, dual-tone LED flash and EIS. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and 89 degrees wide angle lens.
The rest of the smartphone’s specifications remain much the same, including the 3,000mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe specifications and features
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is among the first smartphones in the world to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 chipset. With a price tag of Rs 49,999, you get features like a 5.7-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, and 256GB onboard storage.
In the camera department, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe sports a 23-megapixel rear camera with 4-axis optical image stabilization, 3-axis EIS and support for 4K video recording. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The smartphone also features a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), USB Type-C port, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS.
Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra specifications and features
The Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is the only phablet in this range with a 6.8-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Also on offer is 64GB internal storage.
The phablet also features a massive 4,600mAh battery, 23-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 8-megapixel shooter. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), USB Type-C port, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS.
