The
upcoming iPad Air 3, which is rumoured to release in the first half of 2016,
will most likely not adopt the 3D Touch feature because of production issues
within Apple’s supply chain.
According
to a information obtained by MacRumours, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo,
known for accurate Apple predictions, expects Apple to unveil the new device
during the event which is to be held in March next year. Apple is also expected
to unveil a new 4-inch iPhone along with the Apple Watch 2.
On iPhone
6s, 3D Touch measures the distance between iPhone's flexible cover glass and
the sensor array, outputting force and location data for each finger press.
Apple's next-generation 3D Touch will work on the same principle and should be
transparent to the end user, the source said.
On the
hardware front, the iPad Air 3 is likely to sport a 9.7-inch display and it
could be powered by Apple’s A9X chipset, which is
also present in the iPad Pro. With an 8-megapixel iSight camera, the iPad Air 3
is expected to be priced at $610 (which is approximately Rs 39,700).
