Xiaomi Mi Max 2 With 5300mAh battery expected to launch in India next week

Xiaomi has sent out invites for a launch event in New Delhi that's scheduled to take place on July 18. The company has put up a series of teasers along with the caption ‘Something’s coming’. The Mi Max 2 was launched in China back in May, and it is essentially the successor to last year’s Mi Max phablet.

In China, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was launched with a price tag of RMB 1,699 (Rs 16,000 approximately) for the 64GB variant, and RMB 1,999 (Rs 19,000 approximately) for the 128GB variant. In terms of design, the Mi Max 2 sports a metal unibody design with a rear fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port for power and data transfer. Just like the Mi Max, the phablet retains the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, as well as an IR Blaster at the top of the device. The antenna bands run along the top and bottom edges of the smartphone.

The phablet flaunts a 6.44-inch full HD (1080p) display. But the Mi Max 2 goes bigger on the inside with a 5300mAh battery. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. Unlike last year’s device, the Mi Max 2 also boasts dual power amplifier stereo speakers.

On the camera front, the Mi Max 2 packs a 12-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX386 sensor, which is also seen on the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone. The rest of the camera features include auto-focus, LED flash, PDAF support, and HDR. Up front is a 5-megapixel camera.
