Asus ZenFone 4 rumored to come in two variants with Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 630 chipsets



Asus is yet to launch the successor to ZenFone 3 series this year and the company reportedly has six smartphones in the pipeline, expected to be unveiled by this September. The Taiwanese tech firm has been working on ZenFone 4 series and it already kicked off the series with yesterday’s announcement of ZenFone 4 Max, hinting at the imminent launch of other smartphones from the series as well.

The Asus Zenfone 4 has been subjected to several rumors in the past. A recent tip from tipster Roland Quandt now gives detail on the chipset which could make it to the final architecture of the upcoming smartphone. According to Quandt, the Asus ZenFone 4 will come in two SoC variant, where one of the variants will be powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC and another variant will be powered by Snapdragon 630 SoC.

Earlier reports suggest the smartphone will come in two RAM and storage variants as well. Although details remain unknown so far. The Asus ZenFone 4 will be the successor to the company’s last year launched Asus ZenFone 3 flagship smartphone. From what we know so far, the company will also launch the Zenfone 4 Pro, Asus ZenFone 4V and the Zenfone 4 Selfie apart from the Zenfone 4 and ZenFone 4 Max. Among the lot, the ZenFone 4 Pro is said to be high-end offering by the company this year.

As per media invites sent by Asus, the company is said to make the Asus Zenfone 4 series official in Europe during the September 21 event this year. The company unveiled the Asus ZenFone 4 Max with 5,000mAh battery and dual rear camera setup in Russia yesterday. Sticking to the aggressive pricing strategy for its smartphone, Asus introduced the ZenFone 4 Max to the market for $235 (approximately Rs 16,000).

There is no word on the availability of the smartphone in India at the moment, however, Asus is expected to make an official announcement soon. The Asus Zenfone 4 Max is the successor to the previously launched Asus Zenfone 3 Max which currently retails in India at a price starting from Rs 11,799. The mid-ranger Zenfone 4 Max, when launches, can be expected to be priced in India on similar lines as well.
