While Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 continues to break records for being one of the most popular Xiaomi phones, the Chinese company seems to be gearing up for its successor already. Since a few weeks now, we have been coming across quite a few leaks around the speculated Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and this week is no different. The latest leak is an alleged slide of the Redmi Note 5, which reveals a handful of specifications, vitals, and price of the smartphone.
As per the leak, which was first reported by GSMArena, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display. Under the hood, the Redmi Note 5 is shown to be powered by either a Snapdragon 630 or a Snapdragon 660 chipset, both of which are built on 14nm process. The two mentioned CPUs could mean two variants of the Redmi Note 5.
However, surprisingly, down from Redmi Note 4’s 4,000mAh battery, the leaked images of the Redmi Note 5 show the device fuelled with a 3,790mAh battery. But, the latter is also going to be sleeker than the Redmi Note 4, with a thickness of 7.5mm, hence the sacrifice on the battery. The slides also reveal that the fifth edition Note smartphone will also feature QuickCharge 3.0 over a USB-C port.
Further, the slides also show the expected optics on the Redmi Note 5. According to the leak, on the rear, the smartphone will sport a 16-megapixel camera, a 13-megapixel sensor on the front. If true, that would be a dramatic increment from Redmi Note 4’s 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera.
Also, the supposed Snapdragon 630 or a Snapdragon 660 chipset on the Redmi Note 5, will be supported three variants of RAM and storage options. Which means, the smartphone will apparently be available in a 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage variant, prices at CNY 1,200, which translated to about Rs 11,400. Then there will be a 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage variant, which will cost CNY 1,400, which is about Rs 13,000, and another 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage variant that will be priced at CNY 1,500, that is approximately Rs 14,000.
