Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus with A11 Bionic chipset launched; pre-orders begin from September 22 in India


Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are here, and as is the tradition, they are super expensive. But if you are an Apple fan and want to upgrade to the newest models, you can do so by pre-ordering them starting September 22. You can give pre-orders for any of the iPhone 8 models at Brightstar Telecommunication India Limited, which also happens to be the distributor of BlackBerry devices in India, or Redington India, which is among the top Apple resellers in the country.

Brightstar announced that starting September 22, 2017, you can pre-order the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus at various authorized stores in North and East region in India. The new iPhones will be available in stores starting September 29. On the other hand, Redington announced that interested buyers of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be able to pre-order on September 22, at the company’s 3,000 stores across the country.

In India, the iPhone 8 is priced at Rs 64,000 for the 64GB model and Rs 77,000 for the 256GB model. The iPhone 8 Plus, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 73,000 for the 64GB variant, while the 256GB storage variant costs Rs 86,000, slightly less than the iPhone X, which is priced at Rs 89,000. Brightstar will also start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X starting October 27. The anniversary-edition phone will be available at authorized stores starting November 3, 2017.

The talking points of the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is the glass sandwich design from the iPhone 4. However, Apple says that the glass is the most durable ever in a smartphone. The iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch Retina display, while the iPhone 8 Plus packs a 5.5-inch display. Under the hood, the new A11 Bionic processor is packed with two storage choices. Most importantly, the smartphones support wireless charging.

The iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X, in particular, are calibrated for augmented reality. Both feature dual camera module with a pair of 12-megapixel cameras with wide angle and telephoto lens. In addition to that, there is a Portrait Mode for the front camera as well, along with Portrait Lighting feature which lets you manually adjust the light while composing a shot for a more dramatic effect. Another noteworthy feature is the Face ID on the iPhone X, which essentially replaces the physical home button for the machine learning-based facial recognition.
