Xiaomi has launched the Mi Note 3 smartphone alongside the Mi MIX 2 today in Beijing, China. Successor to the Mi Note 2, the Mi Note 3 comes with upgrades in terms of design and specifications as well. The Mi Note 3 is also touted as the bigger screen version of the Mi 6. Prices for the Mi Note 3 starts at RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,500) for the base variant, and RMB 2,899 (approximately Rs 28,500) for the 128GB variant. There is also a glossy Mi Note 3 variant with 128GB storage that is priced at RMB 2,999 (approximately Rs 29,400). Xiaomi’s new smartphone will be available for purchase tomorrow in China.
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 flaunts an aluminum alloy body with a metal frame. The smartphone sports a four side curved glass body, and is 3.6mm thin. One of its highlights include facial recognition for biometric authentication. The smartphone also features an under-glass fingerprint sensor. It also features an IR blaster.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch display with a dedicated Reading Mode. At the heart of the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM, and two storage options of 64GB and 128GB.
The Mi Note 3 sports a dual-camera setup which consists of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The dual cameras are equipped with 2X optical zoom, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), optimized low-light photography, and DSLR-like bokeh effect. In other words, the Mi Note 3 boasts the same dual-camera capabilities as the Mi 6. Up front, the smartphone houses a 16-megapixel camera of 2um pixel size with adaptive AI Beautify technology for selfies and video calling.
The connectivity options available on the Mi Note 3 are NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,500mAh battery.
