The high-end variant also comes with a gold-plated ring around the rear camera sensor. As rumors suggested, there is no dual camera setup on the rear. The ceramic made power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has been launched in three variants differentiated by the storage spaces. As mentioned, the variant with 64GB storage is priced at RMB 3,299. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is the successor to the Xiaomi Mi MIX that was launched last year. Compared to the Mi MIX, its successor features a higher screen-to-body ratio, and a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. While the bottom chin remains, it is now 12 percent slimmer. There are rounded corners adding to the aesthetic element of the smartphone. On the whole, the Mi MIX 2 is said to be 11.9 percent smaller than the Mi Mix, and about seven percent smaller than the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
Getting back to the 'hidden sound-guided speaker', the company details it to be a 'cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology' that resonates the sound through the metal frame and delivers it through the screen itself - completely hiding the speaker on the smartphone. This is achieved with 50mW membrane speaker, sound guiding tube, and a sound hole.
