Over these years, Google has constantly updated the Search, and has made it dramatically more efficient, and simple to use. It has been doing the same for its Google mobile app as well. And with its latest update, Google is giving its users quicker access to things than ever before. From planning your next trip to locating the newest restaurants, Google has now added shortcuts to its Android app, for quick and easy access to all kinds of information.
Starting today, that is August 10, users in India will see tappable shortcuts on the Google app, which will provide easy access to tools. The shortcuts can be seen immediately beneath the search bar. Users will find shortcuts to information like cricket scores, weather, nearby restaurants and more. Google says, moving forward, it will also be adding new shortcuts for big moments and events. The update is currently only available for Android users, and in English. In order to get the feature, Android users will have to update their Google app.

The shortcuts that will shows up under the search bar, will be lined up in descending order based on the most often used shortcuts. However, beside the most used ones, there will also be a dozens of other shortcuts in the Google app, which will be revealed when you tap the little arrow to the right of the shortcuts. That has shortcuts to nearby gas stations, pharmacies, convenience stores, discovering vacation destinations and booking flight tickets.
And here’s my favorite bit, there are also quick access to shortcuts like tic-tac-toe, roll-a-dice, Solitaire, and always a favorite, the digital fidget spinner. Additionally, Google is also bringing its recently introduced Facebook-like news feed to India soon. Essentially, the news feed uses advanced machine learning algorithms, which show content that is customized for each user. With the new Google feed, there will be cards with information related to the search query. Additionally, the feed will also show trending information based on user’s area of location, along with global trends. Google’s machine learning algorithm will study the user’s interests based on the search queries, and suggest related content.
