Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to launch today: How to watch live stream and exclusive on Amazon India



It's a big day for Samsung as it gears up to unveil the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone to the world. The South Korean giant is hosting a Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event in New York at 11am EDT (8.30pm IST) on Wednesday, August 23. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a lot to redeem, given its predecessor Galaxy Note 7 was recalled due to faulty batteries that posed a fire hazard. The Galaxy Note 8 will be available on Amazon India exclusive. We are just a few hours away from the official launch and Amazon India website show a page about Galaxy Note 8 but this page don't see any specification details.

As mentioned, the Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event will begin at 8.30pm IST (11am EDT in New York), and it will be live streamed by Samsung for the global audience to see. Additionally, like all other major events, Samsung will also be streaming the launch on its official YouTube channel.

An Orchid Gray variant of the Galaxy Note 8 has leaked, along with a possible 256GB storage variant of the phablet. The leaked render of the Galaxy Note 8 was shared by Evan Blass on Twitter, and only confirms past speculations. The design language of the Galaxy Note 8 has become quite evident now with almost no bezels on the sides, and thin bezels forming the top and bottom parts. The phablet doesn’t house a home button, and features a rear fingerprint sensor like the Galaxy S8 duo. The Galaxy Note 8 will possibly come with dual-camera module at the rear, according to leaks.

Tipster extraordinaire Evan Blass recently suggested that the Galaxy Note 8 will be made available for pre-orders starting August 24, just a day after its launch and will be released by the company on September 15. Additionally, Blass suggests that the users who pre-order the smartphone will get an option of either a free 256GB SD card and wireless charger or a free Samsung Gear 360 camera. In Europe, the pre-orders will come with a free DeX dock.

Lately, the internet has been flooded with Galaxy Note 8 speculations and teasers. Just yesterday, a report claimed to have the alleged official pricing of the new phablet. According to the leak, there will be three variants of the device, all of which will be equipped with 6GB of RAM. Reportedly the Galaxy Note 8 will come with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. Prices are likely to start from RMB 6,288 (approximately Rs 60,500), RMB 7,088 (approximately Rs 68,200), and RMB 7,988 (approximately Rs 76,900) respectively. 


Although if we compare, these prices are a tad lower than what was speculated by leakster Evan Blass. He suggested the Galaxy Note 8 will be priced at RMB 7,455 (Rs 71,800 approximately), but he didn’t specify which variant.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with Quad HD resolution. It will possibly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC or Exynos 8895 SoC, depending on the region it is being sold. 


Its expected dual-camera module could be a either a pair of 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras, or 12-megapixel sensors. The setup is said to of one with a wide-angle lens and f/1.7 aperture, and the other a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and 2x optical zoom capabilities. The phablet is rumored to be fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery, and run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
