Samsung Flip SM-G9298 Phone with dual display, wireless charging support launched in China


Samsung has made the SM-G9298  flip phone official as Leader 8 in China today. The Samsung SM-G9298 has been earlier revealed in leaked images and now the flip phone is also listed at the company’s Chinese website. There is no word on the price and India availability of the SM-G9298 phone yet.

It undeniably brings back the lost trend of flip phones that were quite a thing a decade ago. However, Samsung brings in a bunch of newly added upgrades to make it a modern-day smartphone. About the design, the clamshell phone is draped in black metal with accents of gold. The top shell has the SIM slot, while the bottom shell has the volume rocker on the right and power button on the left. On the inside, it has a physical alpha-numeric keypad with d-pad navigator and other shortcut keys.

The SM-G9298 comes with two 4.2-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED panels, with primary one on the inside. The secondary display on the top essentially makes up as a clone of the inside one and displays notifications. It is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone also has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner placed beneath the camera.

For the optics, the SM-G9298 is equipped with a 12-megapixel primary camera of aperture f/1.7, LED flash and fast auto focus. Up front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. It houses a 2,300 mAh battery and supports wireless charging. For the connectivity, it has dual SIM support, micro USB port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS.
