Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy S7 edge receives August security patch update even before Google


August has just begun and Samsung is already sending out the latest August Security patch update to the Galaxy J7 Prime. The Samsung J7 Prime was launched last September with Android Marshmallow 6.0. Even though, the device has not been updated to the latest version of Android Nougat yet. Well, it is good to know that Samsung is rolling out the latest security updates even before Google. 

The August Security patch update for the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime comes with the build version number G610FDXU1AQG2. The update brings with performance and stability improvements and common bug fixes. The update is currently rolling out in the form of OTA and you might receive the notification anytime soon. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About device > System updates. It is expected that Samsung would soon roll out the Android Nougat 7.0 update to the Galaxy J7 Prime.

Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is well known for dropping regular updates for all its devices. We have seen the July security update for all the phones S Series, J Series, A Series, and even the C series. Be it is a ROM update or security patch update, starting from the low end or mid ranged to high-end flagships, all Samsung devices stay updated.

According to Androidinfotech report, Samsung is already sending out the latest August Security patch update to the Galaxy S7 edge. The August Security patch update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge comes with the build version number G935UUES4BQG1. You can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About device > System updates.
