Lenovo K6 Note with 4GB RAM launched in India, prices start from Rs 13,999: Specifications, features

Lenovo today launched the K6 Note smartphone in India. Prices for the smartphone start from Rs 13,999, and one of the talking points is that it will only be available offline. The company says that the K6 Note will be available for buyers from December 17 at nearly 15,000 retail stores across the country.

The Lenovo K6 Note was first unveiled at IFA 2016 earlier this year. On the design front, it features an all-metal unibody design and the overall look sort of reminds you of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. But then again, most smartphones in this price segment do look very similar to each other. Also, just like the Redmi Note 3, the K6 Note too boasts a 4,000mAh battery and a circular fingerprint sensor at the back placed just below the rear camera.

As is the case with most Lenovo smartphones these days, the K6 Note too is focused on the audiophiles with support for Dolby ATMOS. The smartphone also supports TheaterMax technology. Along with the K6 Note, one can also buy the ANT VR headset or the VR Controller, priced at Rs 1,299 and Rs 2,800 respectively.

Lenovo K6 Note specifications and features

The K6 Note flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz. The K6 Note will be available in two variants differentiated by storage and RAM. The 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM is priced at Rs 13,999, while the other is the 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM. At the time of filing this story though, Lenovo hasn’t revealed the pricing of the 64GB variant. There is also support for microSD card slot, which can be used to expand onboard storage up to 128GB.

The smartphone also features a 4,000mAh battery that Lenovo says is good enough for up to 31 hours of talktime, and up to 25 days on standby mode. For photography, the K6 Note is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual CCT flash and Phase Detection Auto-focus (PDAF) support. For selfies, there’s an 8-megapixel fixed-focus snapper up front.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (nano+nano), 4G with VoLTE support, WLAN: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack and A-GPS. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out-of-the-box.

It is a tad surprising that Lenovo would launch the K6 Note, just a day after Motorola launched the Moto M smartphone in India. Both smartphones are quite closely matched in terms of specifications and features, and in fact, the K6 Note now seems like the better option of the two.
