Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom with dual rear camera, 4,850 mAh battery could debut at the CES 2017

Just like every other year, Asus has announced that it will be organising an event at CES 2017. The company's 'Zennovation' event has been scheduled for January 4 and the latest teaser video by the company suggests that it has at least two new smartphones lined up for unveil. The CES 2017 trade show is set to begin on January 4, with several companies due to make announcements at pre-CES events on January 3 and January 4.

Even though the video teaser doesn't share much information regarding the two smartphones or even their names, towards the end of the video, you can see one phone's display showing an inverted 'V' while the other one's shows an infinity symbol. There is a very good chance that these symbols might have something to do with the phones' names.
The rumored Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom will add to the company’s Zenfone 3 series of smartphones and is expected to bring in exceptional camera qualities. A successor to the Zenfone Zoom, the Zenfone 3 Zoom has been previously spotted on TENNA and later also received the FCC certification. One of the talking points of the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom will be its dual rear camera and a massive battery.

The Zenfone 3 Zoom is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full HD display offering 1920x 1080 pixel resolution. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 2.0GHz is expected to run. It is speculated that the smartphone will be available in three variants based on RAM and onboard storage. There will be a 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM model, 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM version, and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant.

In terms of photography, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, being a successor to the Zenfone Zoom, is expected to come with 3x optical zoom feature. It is further rumored to come with a dual rear camera module similar to the iPhone 7 Plus and come with a pair of 12.2-megapixel and 13-megapixel rear sensors. For selfies, it will feature a 13-megapixel front snapper. Additionally, the smartphone will draw its power from a 4,850mAh battery. Asus is also expected to unveil ZenFone AR, a Google Tango ready smartphone. It runs on Android Marshmallow with ZenUI on top, but we expect that Asus will upgrade it to the latest and greatest Android Nougat eventually. It also has a fingerprint sensor located on the back of the device.
