Motorola Moto G5 and G5 Plus images and specs leak, launch date tipped as well

There has so far been very little information regarding Motorola's followup to the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones. However, some alleged images of what could be the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus have surfaced on the Internet.

The images and specifications of the fifth generation Moto G devices were leaked online in the form of a screenshot posted by The Android Soul. The images show the front of the devices and are not clear enough to make out any notable difference from their fourth-gen counterparts. If the images are true, it seems like the Moto G5 Plus will keep the fingerprint sensor on the front while the Moto G5 will not get the sensor.

The front image of both the phones reveal that only the Moto G5 Plus will feature a fingerprint sensor, which will be placed beneath its home button. The Moto G5, on the other hand, does not seem to be sporting any fingerprint sensor. Otherwise, going by the looks, both the smartphones look almost identical.

Moving to the leaked specs, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will both feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Both the smartphones will be powered by an octa-core processor, and both will come with a turbo charging support. Additionally, even on the camera front, both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will feature a 5MP front facing camera.

However, according to the area of differences include, the main camera, which is 13-megapixel on the Moto G5 and 16-megapixel on the G5 Plus, and the storage option, which on the Moto G5 is 16GB, however, the G5 Plus would further come in two variants, with a 16GB and 32GB internal storage support. Then of course, as mentioned earlier, only the Moto G5 Plus will feature a fingerprint sensor.

In addition to the leaked images and the specifications, the speculated launch date for the smartphones have also been revealed. March 8 is being expected is the date of launch, however, which market would get the smartphone first has not been mentioned. Also, note that, at the end of the day, these still are rumors and none of it has yet been confirmed by the company.
