Lenovo has officially launched the ZUK Edge in China. Buyers will be able to choose from ceramic white and titanium crystal black color variants. The smartphone is available in two storage variants — 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB variant with 6GB of RAM. The 4GB RAM variant is priced at RMB 2,299 (Rs 22,400 approximately), while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at RMB 2,499 (Rs 24,400 approximately).
Based on the name, the ZUK Edge was earlier rumored to be launching with a bezel-less display, but subsequent rumors contradicted that claim. The smartphone launched today boasts a front panel with pretty thin bezels surrounding it. The company says that the smartphone features a body-to-screen ratio of 86.4 percent. Another talking point of the smartphone is the U-Touch fingerprint sensor, which is embedded under the glass panel. The sensor is fast enough to unlock the device in just 0.09 seconds.
Lenovo ZUK Edge specifications and features
The ZUK Edge is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35GHz. The processor is paired with Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top and 401ppi.
In the photography department, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF support, LED flash, and support for slo-mo video and professional mode. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. Making sure everything ticks is a 3,100mAh battery underneath, which also supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card (nano) slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and an USB Type-C port.
On the software front, the ZUK Edge runs on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box wrapped under ZUI. One of the apps preloaded in the smartphone is called U Health, which as the name suggests, is used to keep all your health and activity-related data at one place.
There is currently no word on whether Lenovo plans to bring the ZUK Edge smartphone to India.
