Microsoft Xbox One X gaming console unveiled at E3 2017: The World's Most Powerful Console



Microsoft has finally unveiled its ‘Project Scorpio’, the Xbox One X at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017. Microsoft had first teased the ‘Project Scorpio’ at last year’s E3, which is poised to directly compete against Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro. Specs-wise, the Xbox One X does stand stronger than the PlayStation Pro, and is also priced higher at $499 (Rs 32,200 approximately). The Xbox One X will go on sale starting November 7 this year.

In terms of design, the Xbox One X sports a similar look to the original Xbox One, but is slightly smaller in size. In fact, Microsoft calls the Xbox One X, the smallest Xbox ever made so far. One of the highlights of the Xbox One X is its capability of of running games at 4K/60 frames per second. Some of the 4K games that can be played on the Xbox One X include Forza Motorsport 7, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and Super Lucy’s Tale.

The Xbox One X is powered by an eight-core Custom AMD CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, and a 6 teraflop GPU clocked at 1.17GHz. The Xbox One X comes with 8GB of flash memory, 1TB of HHD internal storage and 12GB of GDDR5 video RAM. The Xbox One X also features memory bandwidth at 326 GB/sec, which promises faster and more detailed game graphics. Microsoft says that with the combination of these specs, the Scorpio Engine in the Xbox One X makes it the most powerful console gaming processor. 

In addition to the overloaded horsepower, the Xbox One X also uses advanced liquid cooling and supercharger-style centrifugal fan to keep the machine cool. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi direct, IR blaster, a power port, two HDMI ports, three USB 3.0 ports, S/PDIF and an Ethernet port. More audio and video features on the Xbox One X include 4K Ultra HD, Spatial audio, HDR, 4K DVR, DTS 5.1, and Dolby ATMOS support. Like the Xbox One S, the Xbox One X is also equipped with a 4K Blu-ray drive.

Those on the Xbox Live community and own Xbox games plus accessories, can use them on the Xbox One X. Microsoft says that all existing Xbox 360 games, Xbox One accessories, Xbox Live community will be compatible with the Xbox One X. Although the Xbox One X will be enjoyed to its maximum on a 4K TV, Microsoft says that the games will still look better even on a Full HD display TV.
