OnePlus 5 India prices leaked ahead of June 22 launch, 8GB RAM variant to cost Rs 37,999

OnePlus will launch its flagship, the OnePlus 5, on June 20 followed by an India launch on June 22. OnePlus is turning into the Galaxy S8, with its specifications and details being all leaked as we inch closer to its official launch. Just yesterday the key components – Snapdragon 835 SoC and 8GB RAM – were leaked through a source code. Today, the pricing of the OnePlus 5 has been leaked further revealing that the smartphone will be launched in two variants in terms of RAM.

According to a source of TrueTech, the OnePlus 5 will be launched in two variants of 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage and 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage. The report states that the 6GB RAM variant will be priced at Rs 32,999 and the 8GB RAM variant will be priced at Rs 37,999. So far, the most expensive OnePlus smartphone is the OnePlus 3T Gunmetal variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at Rs 34,999.

Although this information cannot be confirmed, the pricing range doesn’t stray too far from the speculations as OnePlus usually prices its smartphones in this range. This, however, does complement past rumors of the OnePlus 5 launching in two variants of 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM. In fact, just yesterday leakster Evan Blass shared the source code of the OnePlus 5 ad in Amazon India which revealed that the smartphone will be powered by a 2.35GHz octa-core Snapdragon processor paired with 8GB of RAM.

With around 10 days left for the official launch, we may be treated to more ‘accidental’ leaks of the OnePlus 5. What we do know is that the OnePlus 5 will feature a fingerprint sensor up front, which will be embedded on the Home button and a full HD display. Also, OnePlus today revealed that the OnePlus 5 will feature a dual rear camera setup. OnePlus has also shared an image of the smartphone in the teaser showing the dual camera setup which is placed horizontally on the top left.

This finally puts an end to the wild speculations around the placement of the dual rear cameras on the OnePlus 5. Conforming to some of the leaked renders, the OnePlus 5 does sport an iPhone 7 Plus-like dual rear camera setup. Details on the megapixel count for its cameras are still unknown, however. The smartphone could be fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery.
