Reliance Jio has once again managed to cross yet another milestone. In the 7 months since launch, it has managed to register 100 million subscribers. Reliance Jio has also managed to migrate 72 million subscribers to its paid service in a single month. With the Happy New Year offer ending yesterday, Reliance Jio is giving a final boarding call to nearly 28 million subscribers who are yet to migrate to the Prime membership plan. The company has extended the Jio Prime enrollment deadline till April 15.
To sweeten the deal for existing Prime members and those joining before April 15, Jio has announced a new offer called – Summer Surprise. It offers users with three months of complimentary services till June 30, and the usual tariff will be applicable starting July 1. The offer is applicable only for users who recharge with Rs 303 voucher and above.
For those who have already subscribed to Jio Prime by paying Rs 99, only need to do a refill of Rs 303 and above. New subscribers can sign up with a Rs 99 voucher, and then adding a Rs 303 recharge. Simply put, you pay Rs 99 + Rs 303, which is Rs 402 (or roughly Rs 134 per month) to avail the benefits of Summer Surprise offer.
"In India, we have the fine tradition of shagun - offering gifts on auspicious occasions," he added. "For us, your first recharge is an auspicious moment. Therefore, we want to offer a token of our appreciation - the Jio Summer Surprise."
Users will continue to enjoy free unlimited outgoing local and national calls, 1GB high-speed 4G data per day and access to Jio suite of apps such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, JioExpressNews and more.
Users who have subscribed to the Rs 499 plan, get the same benefits, but with daily high speed 4G data of 2GB. These benefits will continue for three months till June 30. So, in essence, you end up paying Rs 99 + Rs 499, which is Rs 598 (or roughly Rs 200 per month). Rest of the benefits remain the same – including free outgoing calls, and access toJio suite of apps.
In a press note, Reliance Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani also announced thatJio has the world’s largest greenfield 4G LTE wireless broadband network having more than 100,000 mobile towers. He also mentioned thatJio will be adding another 100,000 towers with an investment of over Rs 200,000 crores, which is also the highest in the world. With these additional towers, the company aims to cut down on the pockets of congestion on the network.
