Android 7.0 Nougat beta test for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge starts November 9

.

If you have a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, the wait for Nougat has been long and agonizing. Fortunately, a giant light is shining right at the end of the tunnel as Samsung is poised to launch a beta program here in the U.S. as well as the U.K., South Korea, and China.

To get in on the action, you’ll need to install the Galaxy Beta Program app from the Galaxy Apps Store (you’ll need to be on your mobile device for the link to work). It’s not clear if there will be some type of limitation on the number of those who can take part in the beta.

The website adds that this beta program will be open to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners in the United Kingdom and that the test period runs from November 9 to mid-December. It also points out that the Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Edition and Batman Injustice Edition are not supported in this beta program. If that really is the case, expect a formal announcement of the Android 7.0 Nougat beta test this week.

Be sure that everything essential is backed up, as such beta programs can be a little on the buggy side. Odds are it shouldn’t cause a major catastrophe, but it always helps to be smart.
