Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro, Galaxy C7 Pro could launch in India in next month; here’s what we know so far

Samsung introduced its metal-clad Galaxy C series earlier this year in May, with the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7. Recently, it launched the Galaxy C9 Pro, which stands out as Samsung’s first smartphone with 6GB of RAM. Two more smartphones may join the list and they could be the Galaxy C5 Pro and the Galaxy C7 Pro. The Galaxy C7 Pro was recently spotted on Indian import/export site Zauba, and a report now claimed that both smartphones could be launched as early as next month.

A post on Weibo claims that Samsung will will make both the smartphones official sometime in December, and it also reveals a teeny bit of its specifications. Spotted by theandroidsoul, the post says that the Galaxy C5 Pro will bear the model number SM-C5010 and will be powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The Galaxy C7 Pro with the model number SM-C7010 will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 626 chipset. Other than that, no other information about the smartphones is revealed.

As for the Galaxy C7 Pro, it was spotted on Zauba indicating that an India launch could be possible soon. The listing only revealed that the Galaxy C7 Pro will feature a 5.7-inch display and it could be priced around the Rs 15,000 mark. So far, only this much is known about the Galaxy C5 Pro and the Galaxy C7 Pro.

As the name probably suggests, these upcoming smartphones are the successors to the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. These were launched in China priced around $330 (Rs 22,100 approximately) and $396 (Rs 26,000 approximately) respectively.

The Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7 share a similar set of specifications and differ in terms of display size, processor and battery size. The Galaxy C5 features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Under the hood runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It comes in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB with an option to expand the storage up to 128GB via a microSD card.

On the photography front, the Galaxy C5 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 2,600mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support. The smartphone’s connectivity options include dual-SIM support (hyrbid setup), 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v 4.2, GPS and NFC.

The Galaxy C7, on the other hand, features a bigger 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display. Under its hood runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. It is powered by a bigger 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Samsung has not made the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7 available in global markets but the Zauba listing raises expectations on an India launch.
