OnePlus 3T appears on retailer website with a $499 price tag leaked ahead of launch tonight

OnePlus is gearing up to launch an upgraded version of the OnePlus 3 smartphone tonight. We have already come across numerous leaks, which have given us a fair idea on what to expect from the upcoming device. With just a few hours to the launch event, the OnePlus 3T has been listed on a Chinese online retailer, priced at $499 (approximately Rs 33,700). The device is currently listed as ‘Coming soon’ on the retailer’s website.

As seen on the listing page, the OnePlus 3T is not expected to look a lot different from the OnePlus 3. Instead, most of the changes will be under the hood. The overall look is in line with what was teased on the company’s Weibo account. The teaser showed the OnePlus 3T in front of a mirror. The rear of the device looks exactly like the OnePlus 3, while the reflection on the mirror showed the letter ‘T’ on the front panel. The listing on the website reveals that the smartphone will be available in white and black color variants, and the unlocked version can work in Europe, Asia and Australia.

OnePlus 3T specifications and features

Going by the listing, the OnePlus 3T features a 5.5-inch screen with full HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution. There were rumors of OnePlus opting for LCD displays, but co-founder Carl Pei recently refuted them saying the company will stick with Optic AMOLED displays.

Under the hood will be a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, which is expected to be paired with 6GB of RAM. However some reports claim that the OnePlus 3T could be the first smartphone ever to boast 8GB of RAM. It will also come with a 64GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

On the photography front, the smartphone is said to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX398 image sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. The listing claims that the smartphone will come with a 3,080mAh battery, along with support for Dash Charge technology. On the software front, it is expected to run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

While the Oppomart listing claims that the OnePlus 3T is priced at $499, earlier reports suggested a $479 price tag, which is approximately Rs 32,000. In comparison, the OnePlus 3 was launched in India earlier this year, priced at Rs 27,999.

OnePlus is hosting its OnePlus 3T launch eventtonight at 11:30PM, and the event will be live streamed on the company’s Facebook page. Alternatively, you will also be able to follow the live updates on the company’s Twitter handle.
