Nokia Android phone roadmap now tipped to launch 7 models in 2017

Nokia‘s comeback in the smartphone market is probably one of the biggest news for the tech world this year. HMD Global has already confirmed it will be soon launching new Nokia Android handsets. Ahead of the official launch, there have been plenty of leaks and rumors, giving us a rough idea about what to expect from these upcoming Nokia smartphones. The latest word on new Nokia phones is that HMD is planning to launch about six or seven Android smartphones this year.

The information comes through a leaked presentation slide of a Malaysian distributor Avaxx. As spotted by Nokia Power User, the slide also reveals price range of the new Nokia Android smartphones. As rumored previously, HMD will be offering Nokia smartphones across categories, that is, low-end, mid-range and high-end. Though the information somewhat dovetails previously leaks that there could be more than three smartphones unveiled at the MWC 2017.

Until now, we have learnt quite a lot about Nokia D1C smartphone that is expected to show up at the MWC 2017. Now, reports have hinted at four more handsets that will be available in the mid-range segment. A report on GSMArena said that the purported smartphones will feature displays between 5-inch and 5.7-inch offering Wide Quad HD or full HD resolutions. These smartphones will be in addition to the Nokia Pixel, Nokia D1C, and Nokia Z2 Plus devices, which have been previously spotted online.

Also falling in line is a recent leak, where a new Nokia smartphone had been spotted online having passed China Compulsory Certification (3C). The Nokia smartphone spotted online came with a model number ‘TA-1000’, and as per the listing, it features standard 5V/2A charging support, AndroidPure reports. This indicates that this could be the low-end smartphone that the Malaysian distributor’s slide talked about.
