Vivo is all set to officially announce its V5 Plus on January 20; however, the smartphone has been already listed online for a pre-order. A Malaysian retailer DirectD has listed the Vivo V5 Plus on its website, priced at RM 1,799 (approximately Rs 27,500). Vivo is known for its selfie-focused smartphones and the V5 Plus is no exception, and the company has already confirmed that it will boast a dual-camera setup for selfies.
Based on the listing on the website, the Vivo V5 Plus is up for pre-order at its full price. In color choice, it lists the gold color option which will be available on January 21, a day after the official debut. Customers who pre-order will also be able to avail a set of ‘exclusive free gifts’ along with a ‘mystery gift’. The listing doesn’t mention exactly what gifts would be on offer. It further notes that only the online pre-orders will be available for pick up at Subang or PJ store.
Earlier this month, Vivo started sending out media invites for its V5 Plus launch in India. Based on the invitation, the ‘biggest selfie camera revolution’ will make its debut in the country on January 23, right on the heels of its international debut. The smartphone was first teased at the launch of the V5, but no official date or specification details were announced at that time except for the addition of a dual selfie camera setup.
Vivo V5 Plus specifications and features
There have been scarce details about the Vivo V5 Plus in the past, except for wild guesses about having same specifications as its predecessor but including the new dual-camera setup. The latest listing on the Malaysian retailer now throws more light on the complete specs.
If the listing is to be believed, the Vivo V5 Plus will measure 153.8×75.5×7.6mm and come with a 5.5-inch full HD display offering 1080×1920 pixel resolution. At the heart, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Users have the option to further boost the storage up to 256GB using microSD card.
Being a selfie-centric smartphone, the Vivo V5 Plus is believed to come with a 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual front camera setup. The two cameras will offer more depth-of-field, allowing users to tweak their selfie-background in real-time or after the shot has been captured. The smartphone further houses a 16-megapixel rear camera.
On the software front, the Vivo V5 Plus will run the older Android Marshmallow. Keeping the smartphone ticking will be a 3,160mAh battery. The listing further reveals that the smartphone will support dual-SIM.
